Boehringer Ingelheim continues to march into China with an agreement with Taizhou China Medical City in Jiangsu Province in China to establish a veterinary vaccine manufacturing plant. Earlier in the year, Boehringer Ingelheim has launched the company's Asian Veterinary Research and Development Center in Zhangjiang, Shanghai. The company has also entered into an agreement with local medical center to develop new treatment for diabetes. Late last year, the company announced that it is to expand its workforce in the supply center located in Shanghai, China.
Under the terms of the agreement, the total investment will be more than 55.5M Euro. The manufacturing plant will produce swine and poultry vaccine for China and other Asian markets. The company said the manufacturing plant will create more than 200 jobs
